Healthy volunteers are participants who do not have a disease or condition, or related conditions or symptoms

An interventional clinical study is where participants are assigned to receive one or more interventions (or no intervention) so that researchers can evaluate the effects of the interventions on biomedical or health-related outcomes.

An observational clinical study is where participants identified as belonging to study groups are assessed for biomedical or health outcomes.

Searching Both is inclusive of interventional and observational studies.

You can narrow your results further by searching each trial’s description for a specific word. Keep in mind that this will search the full description. We recommend carefully reviewing each trial information to ensure that it is an appropriate fit for you.

  • Immune Responses in Prostate, Lung, Melanoma and Breast Cancer Patients Following Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT), Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) or Brachytherapy

Success of cancer immunotherapy is limited by the ability of solid tumors to evade local and systemic antitumoral immune responses. Several mechanisms of tumor immune evasion have been identified, including low intratumor expression of antigens and elevated expression of inhibitory co-regulatory molecules. An effective immunotherapy is one which would induce necrotic cell death and accompanying proinflammatory cytokine induction. Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) or Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) or brachytherapy, which is capable of delivering high, conformal radiation doses (>8 Gy) of tumor ablative radiation may be an effective means of conditioning a tumor bed to a...

  • Immunotherapy Adjuvant Trial in Patients With Stage I-III Merkel Cell Carcinoma

The I-MAT trial is a randomised, placebo-controlled, phase II trial of adjuvant Avelumab in patients with stage I-III Merkel cell carcinoma aiming to explore the efficacy of avelumab as adjuvant immunotherapy.

  • Immunotherapy of Relapsed Refractory Neuroblastoma With Expanded NK Cells

This NANT trial will determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of autologous expanded natural killer (NK) cells when combined with standard dosing of dinutuximab and will assess the feasibility of adding lenalidomide at the recommended Phase II dose of the expanded NK cells with dinutuximab, for treatment of children with refractory or recurrent neuroblastoma.

  • Immunotherapy Using CAR T-cells to Target CD19 for Relapsed/Refractory CD19+ Primary CNS Lymphoma

The CAROUSEL Trial is a single-centre, non-randomised, open label Phase I clinical trial of an Advanced Therapy Investigational Medicinal Product (ATIMP) in adults (age ≥16) with relapsed/refractory Primary CNS Lymphoma. The study will evaluate the feasibility of generating the ATIMP, the safety of administering CD19CAR T-cell therapy and how effectively CD19CAR T-cells engraft, expand and persist following administration in patients with relapsed/refractory primary CNS lymphoma.

  • Immunotherapy With Ipilimumab and Nivolumab Preceded or Not by a Targeted Therapy With Encorafenib and Binimetinib

This is a multicenter, 2-arm open-label, randomized comparative phase II study. The objective of this trial is to prospectively evaluate whether a sequential approach with an induction period of 12 weeks with encorafenib + binimetinib followed by combination immunotherapy with nivolumab + ipilimumab improves progression free survival compared to combination immunotherapy nivolumab + ipilimumab alone in patients with BRAF V600 mutation-positive unresectable or metastatic melanoma.

  • Immunotherapy With Nivolumab and Ipilimumab Followed by Nivolumab or Nivolumab With Cabozantinib for Patients With Advanced Kidney Cancer, The PDIGREE Study

This phase III trial compares the usual treatment (treatment with ipilimumab and nivolumab followed by nivolumab alone) to treatment with ipilimumab and nivolumab, followed by nivolumab with cabozantinib in patients with untreated renal cell carcinoma that has spread to other parts of the body. The addition of cabozantinib to the usual treatment may make it work better. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab and ipilimumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Cabozantinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet...

  • Impact of a Prebiotic Food-enriched Diet (PreFED) in Combination With Ipilimumab/Nivolumab Combination Immune Checkpoint Blockade (ICB) in ICB-refractory Melanoma Patients

To learn about the possible effects of a prebiotic food-enriched diet (PreFED) targeting the gut microbiome in participants with ICI-refractory melanoma who are receiving the combination of ipilimumab and nivolumab as part of their standard care.

  • Improved Therapy Response Assessment in Metastatic Brain Tumors

TREATMENT is an observational study addressing the need for knowledge and adequate diagnostic biomarkers in the response assessment of patients with brain metastasis. Reliable response assessment will be highly relevant in the coming years given the introduction of next-generation cancer drugs, including immunotherapy. This project uses advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Vessel Architecture Imaging (VAI) to better understand the response to traditional stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and immunotherapy. Secondary objectives include: In patients with brain metastases, use advanced MRI and Vessel Architectural Imaging methods to reveal parameters of traditional,...

  • Improving Early Detection of Melanoma Recurrence With Circulating Tumor DNA (ctDNA)

This is a non-randomized experimental biomarker study evaluating ctDNA levels in patients with stage IIB/C and stage IIIB/C/D melanoma skin cancer pre and post-surgery Study participants will complete a ctDNA test within 4 weeks of their planned surgical resection of their melanoma. Within 4 weeks post-surgery another ctDNA test will be completed. During these time points stool samples and diet questionnaires will be collected for biospecimen banking.
